Week 6
Interactive Module Storyboard Draft
This module is an integral part of my planned course, so it was an excellent opportunity to try storyboarding. Understanding how ATS works is not an obvious part of an AI course, but it is a critical part of the job search process. I want to ensure that as students begin to create content for their resumes, they understand that not adhering to ATS guidelines can result in their being rejected from the application process before anyone reads their resume.
I began the process by outlining the module on paper and then designing the layout in Canva. I would like to try some of the other storyboard programs, but I am very familiar with Canva. I found it very easy to create the design.
The planning and organizing process was very helpful, and I ended up editing the content I had planned for the module while creating the storyboard. Initially, I had planned for the module to be all lecture, but reviewing this week's assignment, I found that using Bloom's Taxonomy to organize the content was very helpful. I ended up including individual and peer review activities along with the lecture. I will definitely use the process to plan additional modules.
My initial thought when reading this week's assignment was that this would have been more helpful if it had come before we created our video and screencasts, but having completed the assignment, I wonder if that is true. Having already completed the video project, I was more aware of what was required to fill two minutes of screen time and could reflect that in the storyboard segments.
