Having worked in career services in higher education for many years, I've found that many students need help understanding the impact of the ATS on whether or not they hear back from an employer. Students often mistake ATS incompatibility as a rejection, which can significantly impact their ability to maintain a positive attitude during the job search.

I kept the document very graphic to highlight the critical facts, but I felt it necessary to include some tips near the bottom. Choosing a color palette that was positive, professional, still engaging, and fresh took quite a few attempts. It was challenging to combine the aesthetic I hoped for with appropriate contrast levels to meet accessibility standards. As with most infographics, it will require a long-tail description rather than just basic alt-text. In the actual module, I will also present the infographic information as plain text to ensure the course meets accessibility requirements.
